My baby is no longer a baby. He is officially a pro at stair climbing and is sitting at the big boy table at daycare. (They use spoons and cups you know.)  He's also good at slapping, pulling, and pinching and thinks it's hilarious. Me, I'm not too impressed with these new found behaviors.  I've practiced my best "Stop!" and "I mean it." voices. He mostly just laughs, but sometimes he cries.  Vindictive like dad, yet sensitive like mom. He's just too darn cute to be mad at for very long. Just look at that smile. Boy, am I in trouble!

Road trip to Coventry-Memorial Day weekend. The boy has 12 chompers now!

In other news, we'll be saying goodbye to dad for 6 weeks as he heads off to Germany for NCO Academy. (New Noncommissioned Officer Academy) We're hoping to fly into Frankfurt and then take a bus to Ramstein AFB to see him. We will definitely be seeing Nana Page and Bumpa Page in four weeks and hopefully flying then-can't wait!

Spring Has Sprung!

14 April 2013

We happily ended our spring break on a sunny note. It was a beautiful day filled with many successful trips down the slide.   (This was B's first time going down by himself.)

My Birthday Weekend

3 April

We braved the cold weather last Saturday and took Bradyn to his first adventure park near London, Legoland. He of course was far too short to ride the roller coasters, but we saw a Star Wars exhibit all made of legos, rode an underwater submarine ride with glass bottoms to view fish and sharks, then of course tested out the Legos.

Mini London-All made out of Legos!

Later that day we drove to the nearest shopping centre and decided to stop and feed the ducks nearby, followed by pigeons and then sea gulls and then even more pigeons!  Soon after it started to snow. (yes snow) So we made our way to the nearest pub, which thankfully allowed us to bring B in.

The birds went crazy for Goldfish!

We read several reviews online about local restaurants for my birthday meal and stumbled upon this quaint pub just a mile from our hotel. Our meal was homemade with organic produce.  I had a steak and mushroom pie with mixed vegetables and new potatoes. Darren of course stuck with his bacon cheeseburger and chips, but he gave it two thumbs up and that's rare for a burger in England. The pub owners loved having Bradyn around and even dropped us off at our hotel at the end of the night free of charge.  Needless to say, we will definitely be back when family and friends visit!

My Birthday Dessert-Bramley Apple Crumble with custard and a candle. :)

Walking off into the sunset-big shoes and all!

And because my birthday was so close to Easter, some pictures of B and his basket from Grandma Rachel. Happy Spring!

14 months and loves candy!

A Post For Dad's Return

15 March 2013

Dad, since you have been gone I....

stopped drinking out of a bottle and started using a sippy cup.

grew a whole inch...maybe more!

learned a few new words like coat, bye-bye and no, no, no no.

found out I can go to sleep without crying when mom lays me down. (Yes, it's true!)

have been brushing my teeth and even have a molar coming in.

learned how to walk a whole lot faster and climb stairs!

But most importantly, Dad

I missed you a whole bunch!

Forward Facin'!

9 March 2013

I had to post these pictures of B and his new forward facing car seat.  Not a single word all the way to Thetford today. He just looked out the window with a blank stare watching the cars and trees whiz by.  The way home was a different story, but at least I could see his lil chub face and keep him happy with snacks.

B ridin' in style!

We drove to Thetford today so we could have at least one more play date with Braelyn. B loved on her like there was no tomorrow! So sweet. Their first and third play date pictures are below. I can't exactly remember how old Bradyn was in this picture, but I'm guessing five-six months. They are just four months apart in age.

What A Wonderful Day!

3 March 2013

We had such a great day with our friend Sarah and her daughter, Cale.  We ate lunch and dinner together. The two of them even took B off my hands for a few hours while I got caught up on some grading at school.  Ah, it feels good to be prepared for the work week.  It feels even better to be with a friend who knows what it's like to not have dad around.  So thank you, Sarah! You made my load so much lighter and my outlook on the next two weeks a whole lot brighter!

All of Bradyn's quiet moments make up for the sometimes loud and crazy ones.
