How am I 35 already?

30 March 2014

It doesn't seem possible for me to be 35 already. My body is slowly reminding me that I'm not so young anymore.  Lindsey says 35 is the new 25, so let's hope there's some truth to that! At least I still have my sense of humor!

So I had my birthday celebration yesterday with friends, whom I've met mostly through work. All in the education field, so you know it was a good time. LOL! I started my day of right with a facial, pedi and some bubbly with my two dear friends Becky and Maggie. Thanks to Len and her amazing Christmas gift, we had cold bubbly!

The three of us then met my friend Jo in Feltwell and we ventured to Mundford to have lunch with the rest of the gang at Brown's Kitchen. It was a quaint little restaurant with the juiciest burger I've had in a long time!

We had a great time and I am definitely a blessed  to have such wonderful people around me while Darren is away.  And look at this beautiful cake! Made by the fabulous Sarah Clark-who is also one of our school secretaries at FES. Chocolate cake with strawberry butter cream frosting to die for!

A little while later we headed to Connie's house to bask in the sunshine and let the kids play. Julaina and Bradyn had a great time jumping on the bean bag. I think we need one!

Today is also British Mother's Day-I'm a lucky girl! Even though we sprung forward, B had me up at 6 so I didn't lose any of the sunshine!  Going to grill some short ribs and call it a night.

P.S.-We have plans to see Darren for spring break! We fly to Vilinus, Lithuania on Saturday and get to spend a week with him and fly back from Riga, Latvia. So blessed to live this life. May it be my best year yet!

Starting to see a strong resemblance between Bradyn and I more and more every day. The boy has seriously style and grace---just like his mom.

1 More Week

14 March 2014

1 more week until we fly to see Darren. We will be flying to Kaunas, Lithuania this time. I was sitting here thinking about that and what I need to do before we take off and completely forgot to post pictures from our last trip to Riga, Latvia. I am feeling the need to post more and more since this is the modern version of journal writing. Something to show the grand kids some day, ya know?

Bradyn and I flew out of Stansted Airport on 21 February with an aquaintance-Danielle. Her hubby is also in Lithuania, so we were happy to have company. I thought I would need the extra hand, but turns out we did just fine and B was the perfect travel companion. The iPad and excitement of the whole flying process was enough to keep him entertained. He did fuss once when I was trying to pay for his juice he had sucked down before leaving the store! Toddlers I tell ya. The flight was just over 2 hours.

Darren and his friend picked us up and we drove to the hotel. It was a joyous reunion. Lots of giggling and "daddy" from B. We ordered pizza and crashed because it was already 2300.  This picture is actually a couple days later. Pizza the size of our table and we ate every last inch!

The next day we did some major site seeing-- in the cold. Not a fan of flying somewhere and it being colder that where you started from. We need to do something about that!  The city was gorgeous though. We stayed in old Riga and I'm glad we did.

Darren has a couple more months in Lithuania-- hopefully. We can't wait to see him next weekend and tour another new place. I'm very proud of the hubs-he's in the bottom left of this picture.

The 48th Fighter Wing at Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England, sent an additional six aircraft and more than 50 personnel to augment the four aircraft and approximately 150 Airmen already supporting NATO's ongoing air policing mission, at the request of U.S. allies in the Baltics.

My Birthday Wish List

8 March 2014

With my birthday just 22 short days away, I decided to do some online shopping for myself. I have many things in my shopping cart, but then I figured why buy them when I can have someone else buy them for me!? Brilliant idea....I'm glad I thought of it. So, what are you waiting for? Get shopping!

In order from "Sure, I can afford that" to "Hmmm, how much do I love Amy??!!" And you know you LOOOVE ME!
