Sunshine!

25 March 2012

It was a busy week, so I'm just now getting around to a new post on Sunday.  The highlight of my week was visiting the lovely Peacocks tearoom in Ely with my friend, Florence. I met Florence and her family while we were stationed at Eielson. Darren and her husband, Roland worked together and her kids went to North Pole Elementary where I taught. We had a nice time basking in the sun catching up over Prein Lune tea (with hints of almond and honey-yum!), brie with cranberry sauce sandwiches, and of course scones with raspberry jam and clotted cream. By far the best afternoon tea I have had here in England!

The weather this week was beautiful, but Bradyn didn't get to enjoy it all that much.  He had his 2 month check up and shots.  Poor lil guy was running a fever and was motionless as he let out his pitiful little groans. He was at least eating and was back to his chipper self after a couple days....

He weighed in at 12 pounds and measured 22.6 inches long, which were in the 50th percentile. Then they measured his head at 16 inches, which is in the 90th percentile! Big surprise there. :D  Dr. Hall was a little worried about his head shape and wants us to go in on Tuesday for a CT scan to make sure it is developing normally. I'm not too worried about it and hope giving him more tummy time and positioning him so he turns to his right side will eventually help even things out! Otherwise, he was given a perfect bill of health and he said to keep up the good work. He's a strong little boy!

Darren has been busy buying cars again. I think he has five he is working on selling, or should I say making deals on. He's also still working mid-shift, which we are hoping he continues so he can take care of Bradyn when I go back to work again. Only two more weeks off for me, then I do 3 weeks of half days and back to full time for 6 more. Time is going by way too quickly!

SMART

15 March 2012

Bradyn is looking "smart" in yellow, as the Brits say.
(To look smart in England mean to look your absolute best.)

I'm trying to take shots of Bradyn in the rocking chair each month with these stickers, so we can track his growth.
Red hair? It runs in both our families!!

Darren's favorite photo and the last photo taken, for obvious reasons. Not a bad first photo shoot with the new camera. I think I'm ready for my next lesson!

These are the moments I live for..

Major growth spurt this week! Bradyn weighs 12 pounds, measures 24 inches long and is in 3 month clothes already. Slow down, son! We can barely keep up!

In other news...Gramps and Grams are returning tonight from their trip to Germany. They won't even believe how much Bradyn has changed in four days. I'm sure my mom took plenty of pictures with her new camera.  She had taken 1,000 before she left England!  Of course, Darren couldn't let her have a better camera than him, so he sold our Cannon and bought a new one.  Now he says I need to get on YouTube so I can learn how to use it. Hands off until I walk myself through a tutorial. I guess no more semi decent iPhone photos for us!

Family

I was sitting on the couch with Bradyn passed out in the boppy when my parents arrived. My mom said a quick hi, then made a bee line straight to lil B and snatched him from me! It was a proud moment for the both of us.
