Afternoon Stroll

2.23.12

5 Weeks New

My lil monkey man and I took our first stroll around base housing this afternoon. It was a gorgeous day, 17 degrees celsius (63 F). We didn't get out until around 4:30 p.m. By the end of our walk, the safety lights were already coming on. It gets dark around 5:30 p.m. here in England. Bradyn was wide-eyed the entire walk.
Thanks to my new Instagram app for the iPhone, I took some nice shots along the way so you can feel as if you were right there with us. From our house at #6 Woodbridge, B-Boy and I walked about 1.5 miles. Not bad for the first real workout.

Earlier today we went to get Bradyn's passport, social security and American birth certificate started.  He was out like a light the entire time. Now we're watching some American Idol. Well, I am. Bradyn is quiet and cozy in his new sleep/rocker from his aunties, which we hope helps him to sleep a bit longer than 1-2 hours. So far so good!
We've also hit a few milestones this week. We caught his first real smile during our photo shoot Sunday in this picture.

Stinkin' cute this kid!
And another one for Darren and I today. This picture was taken on Sunday as well.

When in England, wear a flat cap!
He has also grown out of his newborn diapers and onesies. According to our scale he weighs about 8.5 lbs. I have been reorganizing our closets a little at a time. Just in time for my parents who are coming next week! So excited for them to hold their newest grandson! Coincidentally, he is number 12 born in 2012. :D

New Record

2.16.12

Just as I was about to start this post, my first awkwards and awesomes list for Bradyn, he gave me the ultimate awkward. An extremely explosive, record breaking poo! EWWWWWW!  He was covered head to toe because he was kicking around in it. Agh, no not the face! I did not stop to take pics. No, I will spare you that much! Instead I marched him upstairs, woke up dad to announce this momentous occasion, undressed Bradyn, and threw his onesie and blanket into the wash. Should have threw him in too, but instead we went back downstairs for a sponge bath. Ahh, he is now squeaky clean, with the smell of Burt's Baby Bee-awesome!

More Awkwards
  • Not sure where to put this, but Bradyn has discovered the TV and loves it.
  • Doing everything one handed. Luckily he just dosed off so I could finish typing this post with two hands.
  • Bradyn wanting to sleep close to his mama is awesome, waking up soaked in pee-awkward.

Awesomes
My Funny Valentine
  • When he smiles just after a feeding and slowly drifts off to sleep. Sometimes he even laughs out loud-adorable!
  • He spends more time awake now and studies our faces. He wins every staring contest, hands down.
  • His facial features becoming more pronounced. He still looks like his mama!
  • My left arm, no longer my weak arm. Major guns forming here!
  • First outing with the stroller to the Valentine's Day Bizarre-successful!
  • Darren and Bradyn sleeping. Priceless.

New Bear Socks

The awesome list is longer, this is good.  Forgot to mention this weekend my friends, the Elliott's, are coming over to take pictures of us with Bradyn. So excited! Can't wait to see how they turn out and I really can't believe he's
1 month old already!

GOT MILK?

2.10.12

Milk seems to be the topic of discussion around the Page house lately. I find myself talking to just about everybody about breastfeeding. What can I say, it's on my mind 24-7. Bradyn's too. His appetite has definitely increased, which is good. I'm definitely having a harder time staying awake at 3 am because he's eating longer though. Thank goodness for pumps and formula!

Early Morning Feeding-So Sleepy

Hey, I'm 3 weeks old!

Hey, B-Boy!

1 February 2012

If you're a SNTC fan, you will remember that Steve and Miranda named their son Brady. As I was watching yet another rerun last night, I laughed because I got the nickname "B-Boy" from Steve without realizing it. This is one of several nicknames I have adopted for Bradyn. Darren on the other hand, has been sticking to one name, Brady. He has loved this name since we found out we were having a boy. We compromised by putting the yn at the end of Bradyn's name. Now that the Patriots are in the Superbowl, he's even more excited to call him Brady and of course put his money on New England this year. We are having a few people over, but the game doesn't start until midnight here. Something tells me staying up late won't be a problem in the Page house. :D

2 Weeks

We had a pretty busy week already, including Bradyn's 2 week doctor's appointment. Dr. Tille said he looked great and he's almost back to birth weight, which we realized was 7 lbs. and not 7 lbs. 7 oz. (Oops! Minor detail.)  He's now at 6 lbs. 12 oz, which is up 7 oz. since last week. Now we won't need to go back until he's 8 weeks, which is when he will get his shots. We also put Bradyn on the waiting list for daycare, picked up his British birth certificate, ran errands around base, and even made it to wing night at RAF Mildenhall last night. Pretty sure people judged us, but who cares. We didn't have to take him out of his car seat once.
What a rock star!

Mommy's Rock Star

Rockin' Out!

Lil B Man and I have had some long rough nights-last night he had me up for 3 hours straight! Luckily, Darren is going to swing shift (4-midnight) next week so he can have the late night shift while I try to catch some zzz's.

Bradyn in another milk coma

I feel great and have been a busy bee around the house in between feedings, pumping, and naps. Only 9 lbs until I'm back to pre-preggie weight-yay me!  Can't wait to get out the stroller and walk Bradyn to the new Starbucks on base with his friends, Tyler and Liam. (Two ladies I work with had boys too.) Today is our first play date with my friend, Robyn and her daughter, Braelyn. Coincidentally their names are very similar and she is a cutie! Pics to follow.
