Dinosaur Park

June 2, 2015

Today we drove up to the top of Rapid City to see the Dinosaur Park where Darren said he took a picture with his younger sister Holly around 5 years old. We couldn't miss our opportunity to snap some pics to relive a childhood memory.
Bradyn and I counted the steps as we walked up. He stopped after 20 because that's as high as he can count. I stopped after 56 because I was too tired to keep counting. He slipped and fell, so to make him laugh we sat him on the Stegasaurus. It didn't work.

T-Rex is always the best!

Afterwards we had a hotdog and drink and a bowl of strawberry cheesecake ice cream. I picked up a post card to send to my class back in England. They would have loved this!

Trying on daddy's hat

Then it was back to the house to start our garden new neighbor Kenny was so kind enough to till up for us! Darren and B mowed down some of the grass  leading down to the garden and around it. The mosquitoes were terrible and I am covered head to toe with bites!

It doesn't look like much now, but hopefully we will see signs of life in a month or two! Stay tuned.

Rainy Days

May 29, 2015

What do you do when it rains nonstop the week you arrive at a new duty station? Go shopping! Bradyn got a little tired while waiting for Darren to make a deal with the guy at Lowe's on a washer/dryer.....

While Darren was at work, B and I went to the Mt. Rushmore Mall.

We made it to SoDak!

May 21, 2015

We made it to South Dakota! 8 hours and 1 flat tire later (boo) we made it safely to Rapid City, checked into the Country Inns and Suites and put our feet up for a while. We visited the new house (just the outside) and the base and liked what we saw. The new adventure has begun!

It's A Family Affair

May 5, 2015

We made it to the states! It's good to be home and show Bradyn were we grew up. The midwest really is the best! These are some of the pics I took on our 3 week staycation.

Bradyn was much loved by his cousins, but the only names he still talks about are Addy and Keera. He spent many nights riding around in the Gator.

Goodbye for now, England

April 30, 2015

5 years have come and gone. We've gained so much in that time. A handsome little boy, endless adventures in a foreign land, friends who became family and memories to last us a  lifetime. RAF Lakenheath was not where were thought we would ever end up, but we're thankful for the experience.  Next stop, USA!

Spring is Here!

11 March 2015

65 degrees, sunshine and not a cloud in the sky. We jumped in the car, opened up the sunroof and drove to the duck pond on base. Bradyn had such a great time watching the ducks and throwing sticks into the pond. We have to enjoy every minute of days like this because they don't happen often. Usually the rain ruins our fun. Not this day. On this day we stayed outside for a few hours...... and THEN..... we took a nap. The sun wiped us out! haha!

A Day at the Dentist

5 March 2015

How to ensure a successful trip at the dentist office.

 1. Give your child some books to read and let him try to operate the drinking fountain on his own.

  2. Once in the room, give him a cool smock and some star-shaped sunglasses to wear so he'll sit still.

 3. Make sure to practice saying "ahhh" at least a dozen times. This is especially helpful if your child does not want to sit in the chair for very long.

4. Wait for the dentist to come and examine the teeth thoroughly and tell wait 30 minutes before you eat.

5.  30 minutes later, give yourself a treat because that hour seemed like three! With any luck you'll be like Braydn and be cavity free!
