Amo I'Italia!

4.25.11

LONG time no post and April is almost over! I guess that just goes to show you how busy this little chicky has been!  Speaking of chicks, Happy belated Easter!

Viva Italia!

Sooooo I got to spend my entire spring break with Darren! You see, I had booked a flight to Aviano to see Darren for my entire spring break week and then the plans just kept on a changing from Darren's side. First it was Tuesday and then Saturday and then....argh! Lucky for me it was the Tuesday of my break and we managed to get three straight days together to site see around Aviano, Pordenone and VENICE!

We didn't shell out the 150 Euro they wanted for the gandola ride, but we watched all kinds of other love birds splurge. Next time!

It was a perfect get away with my hubby filed with loads of sun and yummy food like gelato-fragola (strawberry) flavored!

We also ate some pretty pricey pizza, but oh so good! And well worth it!

I can't forget to mention my cozy little farmhouse turned hotel in Aviano which was 5 miles from base. A spectacular view and a little bit like home. (There were horses grazing behind me and a strong pig manure smell coming from every direction! lol!)

Darren flew out Tuesday of that same week and I bought a one way back to London on Wednesday where Darren scooped me up in the SMART and we spent the next two days in the busy city.  We did the usual London thing: walked around, got lost and confused on the tube and ate delicious meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  That was followed by even more walking and getting lost in London, but we managed to find a lot of nice shopping malls we hadn't seen before!
The remainder of the weekend was spent recuperating from the week and chillaxin' on the couch and more QT! It all worked out and we loved every minute of it!

More pics from Venice.....

Not quite sure why I was posing like this, but it's very statuesque!

Now we are both back to work. Darren is set to deploy to Korea May 17 for 4 months, so next week we have both decided to take some leave from work and go up north to the Lake District for some outdoor recreation and more QT before he leaves again. I plan on making a long summer trip home to the sates-yaya!
